Side-mounted horn antenna

AT&T changed to these conical horn-reflectors sometime in the late 1960s, installing them instead of the original KS-horns. Apparently they were better optimized for the TH and TJ bands, whereas the KS-horns were originally designed for TD2 service and were later fitted for the higher frequency bands. Everything on the outside of the concrete tower was added after the fact, using the windows as doorways through which maintenance techs would climb out onto the platforms and up the ladders to align and repair these antennas - certainly not for the faint of heart!
