The upper half of the structure shows the additional guy wires that are affixed. Most of these Blaw-Knox towers are guyed only at the wide middle point, as that point serves as the base for what is essentially a self-supporting tower. It must have been decided that additional guys were necessary, as this is one of the smaller towers of this type to be built.
